My approach

I use an integrative approach that is based on the individual needs of the people in front of me and begins with compassion and empathy. I believe forming a strong therapeutic relationship is key for therapy to be successful. Rooted in person-centered therapy, I use empathy, respect, humor, and curiosity to guide treatment. From there, I weave various evidenced based practices together like Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, attachment theory and mindfulness strategies to challenge, empower, build insight and guide you to healthier ways of managing life.

During sessions, I encourage my patients to explore as many options as possible so that they can learn about themselves and understand the growth and the challenges they are experiencing. My goal is for patients to walk away from our sessions having unlocked more possibilities for their lives. And although my practice is rooted in evidence-based practices, I prefer to omit jargon from our conversations so that we can focus more on the substance. Having productive and positive patient-therapist relationships is my highest priority.

I work with a diverse group of individuals, including adults and teens from all over the San Francisco Bay Area and offer teletherapy services throughout California. I also work with couples and first time parents using Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Embedded in all of my work is a sensitivity to the importance of culture and identities. Some of my clients are looking for specific kinds of support, such as a therapist to help with race-related stress, a Black therapist or a therapist of color.
